Chapter 1 - Chemical Foundations - Review Questions - Page 32: 2

Answer

No. The scientific method can be used to solve any problem where systematic observations can be made and a hypothesis can be tested and verified.

Work Step by Step

The scientific method is a method of solving problems in which a problem is studied/observed systematically. Then based on the observations, a hypothesis is suggested, tested, and verified. If the data collected from the testing supports the hypothesis another hypothesis can then be developed to confirm the results. However, no hypothesis can ever be "proven" it is only possible to "support" a hypothesis.
