Answer

The axial skeleton is the bony central support of the body . It is composed of 80 bones;; these are cranial bones 8, facial bones 14, auditory ossicles 6, hyoid bone 1, vertebral column 26; ribs and sternum 25 bones..

Work Step by Step

The appendicular skeleton: comprises the bones of the appendages ( upper and lower limbs ) and the osseous girdles that connect them to the axial skeleton . There are 126 bones in the axial skeleton divided into four parts--the pectoral girdle ; the pelvic girdle , the upper limbs and the lower limbs. The pectoral girdle bones are the scapula and the clavicle; the two coxal/hip bones form the pelvic girdle;. The bones of the upper limbs are (in each limb) humerus, ulna, radius carpals, metacarpals and phalanges. In the lower limbs we find, in each limb, a femur, a patella, a tibia, a fibula, tarsals, metatarsals, and phalanges.
