Chapter 10 - Section 10.1 - The Structural and Functional Organization of Muscles - Before You Go On - Page 318: 2

Answer

The connective tissue layers associated with mscls are the the innermost endomysium, the perimysium and the outermost epimysium: The endomysium is loose connective tissue that wraps individual muscle fibers; The perimysium consists of thick connective tissue wraps separate muscle fiber fascicles(bundles). The epimysium is a fibrous connective tissue that surrounds an entire muscle. This is the outermost connective tissue layer of the muscle.

Work Step by Step

Peripherally the epimysium may merge with the muscle fascia; on its inner surface it projects between the muscle fascicles to form the perimysium. Muscle fascia is connective that separates muscles or muscle groups ( compartments) from each other and from subcutaneous tissue.
