For example, to have precise results, the data for a cross-sectional study needs to be large enough. Also, the interpretation of the relationship between two variables from a cross-sectional study sometimes becomes difficult. A case-control study is also known as a retrospective study. So, the quality of the data completely depends on the memory of an individual. It can be carried out by small teams or individual researchers in single facilities in a way that cross-sectional studies cannot be. So, relatively, case-control studies are superior to cross-sectional studies.
