Chapter 3 - Section 3.6 - Rational Functions - 3.6 Exercises - Page 310: 87

Answer

(a) See graph. (b) Eventually the rabbit population will level off at 3000.

Work Step by Step

(a) We draw a graph for the function. As can be seen, the rabbit population rise sharply at the beginning $0\leq t\leq 5$, and the growth rate slows down after that. (b) When $t\gt 40$, the growth rate becomes very low and eventually the rabbit population will level off at 3000 (approaching its upper limit) as can be seen from the figure.
