Temple Folk Irony

Temple Folk Irony

The irony of the authorities

The US authority, which is supposed to treat all religions equally, does the opposite when it pursues Muslim leaders to frame them for terrorist activities. In "New Mexico," the government spies on Muslim leaders using top detectives. Consequently, the government is discriminative of other religions because instead of pursuing the real culprits, it destabilizes the leadership of the Muslims in the USA using terrorism as an excuse.

The daughter in “Woman Niqab."

In “Woman Niqab," the daughter suspects her father of infidelity, and she does the contrary. A Muslim woman is not supposed to show her hair in public. Ironically, the daughter intentionally exposes her hair publicly to show her displeasure at her father's actions. Muslim parents teach their girls to adhere to religious teachings, but the daughter in "Woman Niqab" intentionally does the converse.

The Paradox of Taqwa

After Taqwa’s father dies, she is asked to write his tribute and eulogy to highlight his religious history and other life aspects. Ironically, Taqwa promises to write the tribute, but she fails to start the accolade. The burial day approaches, and Taqwa still wonders what she should write about her father's religious history.
