Colin is the third brother of the clan and also the one with least inclined to marry and settle down. Despite traveling extensively, he feels as though there is an emptiness in his life, that can only be fulfilled by his writing career.
Penelope Featherington
Penelope, the former ugly duckling, has matured both physically and emotionally since her appearances in the previous novels. She is a smart and loving young woman, who values her friendship with Colin too much to ruin it by confessing her crush on him.
Violet Bridgerton
Violet is the loving yet meddling matriarch of the Bridgerton family. She seems to always knows what is bothering her children, and often devises situations in which Colin begins to question his true feelings towards Penelope.
