    Objective:

    Students will be able identify themes and motifs of Irving's story in a range of other media, including the visual arts and poetry.

    Common Core Standards:

    Structure:

    Discuss imagery in the story (especially of natural landscape). Have students select passages endowed with powerful imagery.
