Pax, Journey Home Background

Pax, Journey Home Background

Pax, Journey Home is a coming-of-age novel by American author Sara Pennypacker. Published in 2021 by Balzer and Bray, the novel is the second book in the Pax series. It explores how the power of love and healing manifests in different settings like family, friends, nature, and animals.

A year has passed since Peter has seen his friend and pet Pax. They have drifted apart and now live very different lives. Pax has a family, and that comes with responsibilities. Peter is now an orphan after the war takes his parents from him. Being alone and full of rage, he decides to join a rebellious group in an effort to right the wrongs of the war.

Unfortunate circumstances will force this dynamic duo to reunite for a life-saving mission. Peter and Pax are on a path of healing their relationship and at the same time healing the world from its pain.

Paired with refreshing and realistic illustrations by Canadian illustrator Jon Klassen, the author will succeed in bringing this energy of love and healing into our realm.
