    Kind of Activity:

    Role Play

    Objective:

    To dissect the events in I[Macbeth] through a familiar and humorous format.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-Literacy.SL.9-10.1c; CCSS.ELA-Literacy.SL.9-10.1d

    Structure:

    The teacher introduces himself as a talk-show host (he or she can parody or take the role of an existing talk-show host--Jerry Springer, Ellen DeGeneres, etc.). He or she is here today to interview the residents of Scotland about the shocking events that have taken place this week.

    Select six student volunteers to be different characters. It's important to have Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, but the others can vary--students might select the dead Duncan, Malcolm...
