While Margaret, the oldest sister, is at home in London caring for their younger brother Tibby, Helen visits Howards End. During her brief visit, she develops a quick romance with the younger Wilcox son, Paul, which ends with hurt feelings and embarrassment. As a result, the families go their separate ways.
