Horton Hears a Who! is one of Dr. Seuss' most popular and beloved books, and tells the story of an elephant called Horton. This elephant is no normal elephant and embarks on adventures to save Whoville from evil creatures.
The story begins when Horton is going about his normal day when he hears something talking to him. He realizes that the voice is coming from a speck of dust, and then discovers that there is a little creature on it. After this, he then discovers that the speck of dust is in fact an entire, tiny planet. Speaking to the Mayor, Horton agrees to protect this planet from any harm.
During the story, we follow Horton on his adventures, where he tries to protect Whoville from other creatures. Horton concludes that "a person is a person no matter how small," defending his new, tiny friends. After meeting a number of hostile creatures who say he is wrong, Horton saves Whoville by proving their existence.
