Spanish in the Play

Objective:

Students will understand the purpose and value of the play's use of Spanish and Mexican slang.

Structure:

Moraga uses a lot of Spanish in the play, which is intentional and impactful in establishing the setting and cultural context. Break students into small groups of 3-5 to discuss the use of Spanish in the play so far. To get their discussions going, provide them with the following questions/prompts:
