Marcus says that he'll go out in a blaze of glory in a shootout with the robbers, yet he is not the one who is shot; his partner, Roberto, is.

The Irony of Death

Marcus says that in a year Alberto will miss his insults and think of them at his grave, yet Alberto is the one that dies before Marcus in the shootout towards the end of the film.

The Irony of Chance

Alberto says that he hopes he will be lucky enough to escape his career in the Rangers unscatched like Bridges had done, yet he doesn't escape his career at all and dies.

The Irony of Choice

When Toby and Tanner go in to meet the lawyer about their money situation, he advises them to put the oil money in a trust managed by Texas Midlands, which is ironic because those are the banks they robbed from.

The Irony of Hospitality

Marcus killed Tanner and is out to get Toby, yet Toby offers Marcus a beer.
