    As Haroun advances toward Gup City, he reflects that he’s gotten used to this world very quickly and it no longer seems strange. Can you remember a time when you adjusted very quickly to a new situation or setting? How was that experience like and unlike Haroun's?

    Students should draw on their real-life experiences to talk about entering new situations, whether moving to a new house, starting a new school, or even traveling to a strange place.
