Before the Europeans began to expand, they have lived with the domesticated animals for a long period of time, Lehigh lead to a resistance to the germs from those animals. However, when the Europeans started to take land, the native people encountered the domesticated animals without any protection, which resulted in the widespread of diseases, like smallpox, among the natives.
