A Cloud of Ravens (Visual Imagery)

Aegon sends out ravens informing all of the lords of Westeros that he intends to claim the throne: “On the seventh day, a cloud of ravens burst from the towers of Dragonstone to bring Lord Aegon’s word to the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros." This stark visual imagery shows the confidence with which Aegon embarks on his conquest, and also indicates the scope of this endeavor.

Caraxes' sPiercing Shriek (Auditory Imagery)

When Daemon's dragon, Caraxes, attacks Aemond's dragon, Vhagar, a terrible screech is heard: "Caraxes dove down upon Vhagar with a piercing shriek that was heard a dozen miles away." This auditory imagery emphasizes the terrifying scale of the conflict between these two dragons, as it portrays how far the commotion of its climactic moment travelled.

Fire and Blood (Olfactory Imagery)

Gyldayn notes that during Maegor's reign: "the smell of fire and blood still hung heavy in the air." This strong olfactory imagery is used to show how even after Maegor has claimed the throne, an atmosphere of unease and violence still lingers.

Downward Cut (Haptic Imagery)

Two brothers, Arryk and Erryk, end up as knights on opposite sides of the Dance of the Dragons. Their final conflict is described as such: "Ser Erryk, standing above his twin on the spiral steps, struck the first mortal blow, a savage downward cut that took his brother's sword arm off at the shoulder." This visceral haptic imagery emphasizes the brutality of this fight and the severity of Arryk's wound.
