    Map of Duke's Journey (Part 2)

    Artistic Response

    Objective:

    Students will be able to visualize the characters' journey and the corresponding plot events.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.11-12.2.B, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.11-12.3.C

    Structure:

    Have students continue the map activity introduced on Day 3, this time tracing Duke's journey through Part II of the text. Using Google Earth, Maps, or other online resources as a base, they should mark each key location with the following:

    1. Place name.
    2. A short passage from the text related to the location.
    3. An image that defines the location; students should be encouraged to express their creativity here.
