Eric Bittle

Eric Bittle is the story’s central character, an experienced skater and hockey player. At the start, Bittle is shy to expose his sexual identity because of the constant prejudice, stigma, and ridicule from friends. Bittle is gay and decides to keep his relationship with Jack secret to avoid bullying and stigmatization.

Eric Bittle is a friendly person who enjoys helping others excel in sports and other interests. His teammates love Bittle because he is supportive and honest. Jack starts his romantic relationship with Jack Zimmerman at the end of his first year in college. Jack is a third-year student and the university’s hockey team captain. Jack plays a vital role in instilling confidence in Bittle and encourages him to play hockey. Jack and Bittle keep their sexual relationship a top secret to maintain their reputations. After Jack graduates, Bittle is elected the university’s hockey team captain. When Bittle graduates from Samwell University, he gets engaged to Jack, and they make their relationship public. Unlike Bittle initial worries, his parents and friends support his sexual identity and encourage him to pursue his dreams.

Jack Zimmerman

Jack is the son of Robert "Bad Bob" Zimmerman, a retired hockey legend. When the novel begins, Jack is a third-year student at Samwell University and captain of the university’s male hockey team. When Bittle joins Samwell University as a first year, he is introduced to Jack. However, the initial encounter between Jack and Bittle is nasty, but with time, they start getting along well. After some time, Jack starts a sexual relationship with Bittle. Jack introduces Bittle to his parents, and they encourage them to continue with their relationship. After Bittle graduates from Samwell University, Jack returns, and they get engaged.

Suzanne Bittle

Suzanne is Eric Bittle's mother. Suzanne is an optimistic woman who is very close to his son. Suzanne also loves baking like her son and is a great fan of Jack's Falcon Hockey team. At first, Suzanne does not know his son's sexuality. However, when Suzanne knows his son is gay, she supports him and encourages him to pursue his dreams.

Alicia Zimmermann

Alicia is Jack's mother and a renowned actress. After realizing that her son is courting Bittle, she supports him and encourages him to remain confident and focused in his career.

Byron Sterling "Shitty" Knight

Bryon Sterling is a hockey player in the Samwell hockey team, and his teammates call him "Shitty." Shitty comes from a rich family but has no close association with his family members. Shitty is a close friend of Jack and Bittle. Shitty has a romantic relationship with Lardo but keeps it a top secret. After graduating from Samwell University, he joined Harvard University to study law.

Robert "Bad Bob" Zimmermann

Bad Bob is Jack's father, a retired legend hockey player. Before retiring, Bad Bob won four trophies, which made him famous and one of the most recognized hockey players in history. Bad Bob is a supportive parent, and he encourages Jack to become a star on the Falcon Hockey Team. Bad Bob attends major tournaments where Jack plays and interacts with his teammates. After realizing that Jack is dating Bitte, Bad Bob supports their relationship

Professor Alice Atley

Professor Atley is Jack’s class teacher and Bittle’s academic advisor. Atley allows Bittle to share a senior class with Jack after she receives a bribe from him. Professor Atley knows the relationship between Jack and Bittle, and he allows them to be close to each other.

Justin "Ransom" Oluransi

Justin is a hockey player at Samwell University and welcomes Bittle when he joins the university. Justin is a friendly person and a close ally of Holster. When Bittle is appointed the team's captain, Justin is elected as a co-captain.

Adam "Holster" Birkholtz

Adam is a defense player in Samwell's hockey team. Adam is a close friend of Bittle and Justin, and they play as a team. Adam and Justin adopt Bittle during his first year of study.
