    What do you know about each of the Woodson siblings, so far, from these poems?

    Dell is extremely smart and adores reading, often avoiding other activities to read instead. Hope seems to struggle with social isolation, both with the many girls in the neighborhood and with not feeling at home in the South. He remembers conflicts between his parents that his sisters do not. Jacqueline loves writing and creating stories, particularly with her grandfather. The siblings are close to each other and adore their mother.
