    What does the story Granmè Ifé tells mean?

    The folktale about the lark may have a variety of interpretations. The lark originally gives the girl a pomegranate for the chance to look at her face. Eventually he gives her two pomegranates so he can kiss her. Finally he wants to take her to a faraway place. He acts sad until she agrees, and only then admits there is a king there who wants her heart. The girl outwits the lark and escapes. This story demonstrates the dangers for young women in society. Too often, people may offer them what seems to be a good deal, only to end up trying to take advantage of them. All that glitters is not gold, and girls and women must be smart...
