Rudolfo Anaya is a Mexican American writer and educator. He has taught in middle school, high school, and college. When he first started writing, he would teach during the day and write at night. His novels contain rich, groundbreaking Mexican American themes. His books Bless Me, Ultima and Heart of Aztlán have received the most acclaim. He has had a significant impact on the landscape of Chicano literature and impacted many of the more contemporary Mexican American authors.
