Notes to the Teacher

This is a challenging text to teach at the high school level, and perhaps even at the college level. Blasted should be approached with caution and deliberation; instructors would benefit from maintaining a consistent focus on the playwright's goals and motivation alongside the narrative content. For every disturbing action or event, consider not just its occurrence but its impact. However, you should also be flexible about offering alternative ways to participate and including content warnings, as the material has the potential to be deeply disturbing to some students.
