Biography of Karen McManus

Karen McManus is a New York Times–bestselling author most famous for her young-adult novels One of Us Is Lying and Two Can Keep A Secret. Her books are typically in the mystery genre. McManus has a B.A. from College of the Holy Cross and an M.A. in journalism from Northeastern University. She resides in Massachusetts, where she continues to write.

Before selling her debut novel, McManus worked in political consulting. She married and became a mother, and her husband Jim died when her son, Jack, was a toddler. She returned to writing after her husband’s death to honor his memory.

Before One of Us Is Lying, McManus wrote two other YA novels that were never published.
