John and Elizabeth Sherrill, two American Christian authors, first heard about Corrie ten Boom while writing another book, “God’s Smugglers.” The subject of the biography, Brother Andrew, had travelled with Corrie during mission trips to Vietnam....
John Sherrill was born in 1923 in Covington, Tennessee. He is a Christian author living in Massachusetts with his wife Elizabeth. They have three children together. John and Elizabeth met on a ship going to Europe and were married in Switzerland in 1947. Between 1944 and 1951, John Sherrill worked as a freelance writer in Europe.
In 1970, John and his wife Elizabeth founded a publishing company, called Chosen Books, which focused on finding new Christian authors. The first book published was "Born Again" by Charles Colson.
John and his wife cowrote many books together, including "The Hiding Place," "The Cross and the Switchblade," "God's Smuggler," "They Speak with Other Tongues," and "Return from Tomorrow." John also writes articles for "Guideposts" magazine, a Christian news outlet. Together John and his wife often ghostwrite for other individuals, using peripheral interviews and onsite visits to fill in the details.
