"It was a dark and stormy night.."

It was a dark and stormy night, and my plan was hastily falling apart. The rain fell in sheets upon my black BMW, wherein I remained pensively. I held it in my hands, carefully weighing my options. I had waited for so long; almost too long it seemed, for a night like this. She was at home and alone, an exceptional case for this twenty-two year old socialite. I put it back in my coat pocket. Maybe this is too excessive, I wondered. Had I really thought this through? I collected my thoughts and rationalized to my bothersome conscience. I had bought it and brought it, I must have been thinking clearly.

I removed my sunglasses, a superfluous accessory given the weather, and wiped the sweat from my brow. Having grown nervous, I regained my valor. Cracking open the door of my car I tapped my sole to the concrete. I winced as the inside lights of my car cheerily illuminated, ignorant to my reluctance. I tipped my hat and stepped out of my solitude and into the cruel rain. The gravel footpath echoed my uneasiness as it shook beneath my dragging feet. Twenty paces later I had reached the dry spot underneath the porch overhang.

I turned my back to the door and took it out of my pocket. I flipped it open and watched it gleam as the porch...
