All My Sons includes suicide, reckless endangerment of lives that leads to death, ruthless deception among close friends and family, and severe denial. Teachers should plan to contextualize sensitive, mature, and disturbing topics to mentally prepare students for what they are about to embark on in reading the play. It may also be helpful to provide some social context regarding the realities of war related to the military-industrial complex and corporate profiteering (that continues to this day).
