    Aldo Leopold uses the term ‘mountain’ in his book metaphorically to mean experience. According to Aldo Leopold, the mountain has been there for ages and it has more experience than any other individual who has ever existed. The mountain knows a lot because it has witnessed every development around. Therefore, the mountain is critical in helping the author develop the literary devices simile and metaphor. For instance, he writes, “Think like a mountain” in which he means that a person who thinks like a mountain can see far.
