A Room of One's Own Lesson Plan

Study Objectives

If all of the elements of this lesson plan are employed, students will develop the following powers, skills, and understanding:

    Students will be exposed to a variety of supplemental readings (from thinkers ranging from Resmaa Menakem to Carl Jung to Shanti Elliott to Ruth Bader Ginsburg) which enhance, expand, challenge, and/or provide a modern take on Woolf's ideas. They will participate in activities which encourage them to read critically, analyze deeply, and make fresh connections between A Room of One's Own and these outside sources.

    Students will discuss the liberatory aspects of A Room of One's Own as well as identify problem areas and limitations to Woolf's message...
