Cross-culture Friendship
Mahdar Igbal and his friend are separated during the partition of the Indian subcontinent. In such their religions and cultures become Moslems of Pakistan and Hindus of India. Their friendship stands the test of time when Mahdar who is Moslem disguisedly helps his friend during a time when he had lost everything and Hindus were being displaced.
Sacrifice
Mahdar gave his friend all the money he had on himself when his friend had lost everything to the genocidal violence. He also asked for forgiveness for what his people had done to their people. Mahdar was able to honor and respect their friendship even when he no choice.
Genocidal Violence
The partition of the Indianan subcontinent led to wars between the two communities of Pakistan and India. There was immense hatred between them which led to several deaths and loss of property and displacement of people.
Love and Respect
The story shows a bond too strong to break. A friendship that could not be shaken by any differences in religion and any hatred. Mahdar requested his friend to always remember him for who he had always been to him and not what he had become. Love and selflessness are what this world needs.
Beliefs
Mahdar and his friend have a common belief in God being universal and benevolent. They believe in humanity. The friend restores his faith in mankind after Mahdar stays loyal to their friendship.
