Why is the narrator standing at the fork in the road and what is he thinking in the poem "The road not taken"?
Poem The Road not taken
Poem The Road not taken
The narrator is out for a walk on a beautiful day and comes upon a fork in the road. He steps out a bit when he decides to take the road less traveled, knowing that in general he chooses the well-traveled path. In this, the narrator is considering the things he's never done.... the things he will miss in the furture because he plays it safe. In this instance, he's choosing to make his own way rather than basing his decision on the choices of others.
