She Said Background

She Said Background

Released on September 10th, 2019 (6 days prior to this writing), She Said by journalists Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey is already a best seller on Amazon -- and likely at The New York Times when they release their bestseller lists.

At its core, She Said is an exposee on Harvey Weinstein and his rampant sexual abuse around Hollywood. It details the process Weinstein went through to abuse the women and to cover it up. Kantor and Twohey uncovered Weinstein's transgression through interviews with a vast swath of people -- people who were top actress' and people who worked at McDonald's. It is a #MeToo movement book. A book of power, courage, and the power of truth.

Also, Annalisa Quinn of NPR sang the books praises, writing "She Said is first and foremost an account of incredible reporting, the kind that takes time, diligence and the kind of institutional support many newspapers can no longer afford. For journalist readers, it is a chance to watch experts at work. And this book is a rare view for nonjournalists into the exacting and rigorous process of quality reporting..." Many other reviews echoed the positive sentiments Annalisa Quinn wrote in her review. Above all, though, She Said is an incredibly important book culturally. It expanded on the award-winning journalism Kantor and Twohey did when exposing Harvey Weinstein and other Hollywood sexual abusers. It will most definitely live on as a classic book in the field of journalism.
