"What do you want? For me to say 'Oh boy sis--sure--"art" come before life?"

Trip

Trip says this in response to Brooke wanting him to side with her about publishing her memoir about Henry and their parents. Trip's statement shows us the price individuals pay in their art when they are willing to share the lives of those they love with the world, and the light their loved ones are painted in is glaring.

"How will I find him?"

Brooke

This is the last line of the play. Brooke is reading about her brother to a group who has come to hear her read from her newest book Love & Mercy. Her statement leaves us with the pain of loss as Henry was her best friend, and hope as there is the possibility that she will go find her brother and reunite with him, somehow, someway.

"Now you know all the facts. Publish your books."

Polly

Polly finishes the story of what really happened to Henry with these sentences to Brooke. The responsibility of keeping their secret now lies in the hands of Brooke as well.
