Labyrinth is a musical fantasy film directed and produced by Jim Henson and George Lucas, and was distributed by Tri-Star Pictures in 1986. The film stars actress Jennifer Connelly in the role of Sarah and David Bowie as the Goblin King, Jareth.

The follows the adventures of Sarah, as she wishes away her younger brother Toby, to be taken away by goblins. Not realizing the impact of her wish, Jareth steals Toby away and gives Sarah only thirteen hours to locate him before he turns into a goblin forever. The movie follows on as Sarah tries to navigate her way around the labyrinth to reach the Goblin Kingdom, along the way making friends with the creatures she meets.

The movie has had a cult following since its release, with a sequel being announced in 2016. It also prompted a comic series by Tokyopop , known as Return to Labyrinth between 2006 and 2010. American film critic, Roger Ebert, said that the movie "never really comes alive" and lacks dramatic tension. Nonetheless, the film was nominated for the Saturn Award for Best Fantasy Film and a Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation.
