Therefore, the UN is sending Captain Holden and his crew to go and investigate the alien gate in orbit Uranus to understand its structure and intentions. The tension between outer space and planet Earth is sprawling and becoming out of control, and the UN knows that if it does not act fast, things will quickly get out of control.

    The theme of colonization is evident throughout the text. The novel is set in the future when the world is full, and people and other aliens struggle to control outer space. For instance, religious extremists are heading to outer space to colonize new planets outside the alien gate. The UN is concerned about the rising number of identities wanting to rule outer space, and it is looking for a strategy to control that madness. Because of the scramble for colonies in outer space, there is tension between planet Earth, Mars, and other outer planets.

    How did the religious extremists fail in their plan to colonize the new planet?

    When the religious extremists and their group arrive at the alien gate, they are shocked to learn that the technology intended to take them to the new planet is very dangerous. Since the technology is unstable and highly unpredictable, the religious extremists and their group are forced to change their plan and strategy because they do not have the expertise and adequate workforce to face the violence ahead of them.
