What does Edgar mean when he says, “hereafter she is only my sister in name; not because I disown her, but because she disowned me.”

Edgar is referring to the fact that his sister ran away with Heathcliff, something he would never approve of. He considered her decision a betrayal, and something that she chose to do, all while knowing what the repurcussions would be.
