What did Billy's mother mean when she said "I can't say no and I can;t help worrying" about him?

Mama worries for Billy. She knows that hunting is in his blood and that she cannot stop him for doing what is so natural to him. She also knows that the mountains and wilderness can be dangerous for a boy, especially at night.
