At the end of the book Scout walks Boo Radley home. No more is he the monster that hides on the street. Boo is now a friend: a benevolent phantom. She sees Boo as a friend who came to her rescue. At the end of the book, Scout finally says a visible Arthur and simply says "hey Boo" like she's known him for a long time.
