what in "To Kill A Mockingbird" the sentence: "" I don’t know of any landowner around here who begrudges those children any game their father can hit"" means?

This relates to Bob Ewell being drunk all the time and being unable to feed his children. Landowners let Bob Ewell hunt on their land just so Bob's kids can have food.....if Bob can shoot anything.
