What aspects of Scout's character does Lee draw on to disperse the lynch mob outside the jail?

Scout shows a sense of maturity and innocence that gets right to Mr. Cunningham's heart. Scout is able to cut through all the hate and fear to find something that is real, something that is good that Mr. Cunningham could understand.
