Part one is all about the kids, it focuses on the children; playing, games, and innocence.

Part two has to do with adult things; racism. murder, trials, and worry about their father. It's about a loss of innocence and growing up.

To Kill A Mockingbird

She chose these two chapter because they happen just before the trial and also show that hardship of the racism that Atticus will be fighting. It also shows the children playing in the first part but leading up to the trial and probably during the trial the children will have to grow up in the second part of the book.
