To Build a Fire

In what ways does the description of the dog’s instinct create a sense of drama?

The Dog's natural instincts tell it that they need to get out of the col. The dog does not wish to continue. It longs for the campfire it is so used to when temperatures drop to this. The dog heeds nature's warnings but the man does not.
