Miranda has little exposure to people other that Prospero and Caliban. Obviously she is going to fall in love with Ferdinand, as he does with her. Nevertheless, Prospero wants control of their situation, so he accuses Ferdinand of not being who he says he is. Miranda hopes that Ferdinand and his kind ways will show just how good a person he is so that their love can be shared.
