Helen visited the World's Fair in Chicago, Illinois in the summer of 1893. Despite being deaf and blind, Helen felt that each direction she stood held a separate and tangible wonder for her senses. Helen was excited to explore the "marvels of invention, treasures of industry and skill and all the activities of human life actually passed under [her] finger tips." She could feel the kaleidoscope of new sensations and stimuli.
