After the arrival of Miss Sullivan,Helen enjoyed Christmas by giving Christmas gifts to other children in the colony,guessing the gifts she would get from her friends,and was very excited that she got up earlier than her family members on Christmas.She had also received a canary named Tim,who was then a subject to her loving care.
Before Miss Sullivan arrived,Helen enjoyed Christmas with the daughter of her cook,Martha Washington.
