What different things could be described as "things running wild, and swinging and catching hold of each other"?

In context, this refers to the garden, and the fact that Dickon likes the garden just the way it was.... flowers growing wild, and ivy crawling up the walls and mixing in with the rest of the foilage.... unplanned, free, and beautiful!
