Hester's reputation has improved over time. She is no longer seen in terms of her sin, but rather the woman she has become. She is embraced rather than shunned; valued rather than ostracized. According to pre-destination, Hester would not be seen as having regained her own reputation because that would be impossible...... it was destined.
