Name an object that stands out to as being super important to the development of the story

I believe there are two different objects of equal importance. First, the shopping trolley. The cart holds all of their belongings..... it's all they have, and its presence gives them a semblance of normalcy.... stability. Second, the gun. The gun symbolizes safety.... protection. Without it, survival would have been next to impossible.
