How does Charlie feel after that Michael has passed away? qoute from Charlie that shows how he feels?

Charlie was close friend with Michael, Im wondering if Charlie says anything that shows how he feels after Michael's death.

At the beginning of the book, Charlie is distraught at Michael's suicide. We don't get much background into their relationship but we do get that Michael represented something in Charlie's life. Michael ends up being a cautionary tale to Charlie throughout the story.
