How does the attitude of the doctor toward them and their wounded baby reflect the attitudes of the middle-class community?

The doctor represents the middle to upper class community and ilustrates the way in which the villagers were perceived. Unfortunately, the villagers are perceived as unimportant..... unless they have the ability to pay. The doctor doesn't ultimately come to treat Coyotito out of the goodness of his heart..... he treats him because he sees the possibility of riches in his future.
